Five takes on the World Economy: USA, India, Environmental Law, Biodiversity and China
Today, Quebec entrepreneurs do business on a global scale. Because of their presence in foreign markets and in their efforts to grapple with foreign competition, they feel a great need to understand the economic environment in which they are operating.
In five of its summer schools, the Université de Montréal’s Centre for Study and Research on International Affairs (CÉRIUM), in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal, has brought together some 20 seasoned economy experts.
Topics covered:
USA: The economic and environmental challenges of the Obama administration;
India : How it copes with the crisis; the Indian business world; private enterprise and sustainable development;
China: The state of the economy in 2009; Quebec investments in China; The world of labor; China’ Energy picture;
Environment: Corporate social responsibility in International Trade Law; Climate Change and Investment Law; Economic value and Intellectual property of biodiversity.
Participants will be invited, once during the week, to lunch with the economy experts.
