Practical Information
I. ARRIVAL AT MONTREAL (FOREIGN PARTICIPANTS)
Arrival at the Airport
There will be no special arrival service at Montreal Airport, but there are different comfortable ways to get to the centre:
Aerobus shuttle bus service ($ 14 CAD, round trip $ 24,54 CAD), every 30 minutes, 7 am to 11 pm.
Taxicab (flat rate of ca. $ 35 CAD)
II. REGISTRATION OF PARTICIPANTS
Welcome and registration of participants of the programme in English will take place on Monday July 2nd, at 8.30 a.m. at the entrance hall of our building, situated at 3744, Jean Brillant street, Montréal H3T 1P1 (2 minutes walk from underground station Côte-des-Neiges ). The first course will take place at 9.00 a.m.
III. SITE OF THE COURSES
All Courses will be held at the University of Montreal at 3744, rue Jean-Brillant, Room 580-32 (5th floor), Montréal H3T 1P1 .
IV. DOCUMENTATION
Two weeks before the beginning of the courses, you will have a restricted access to a section of our website, where you will be able to find the list of legal documentation related to the courses and the legislative texts themselves, with case law and bibliographical lists. Reading these documents is not compulsory – unless contrary indications of professors – but recommended.
You will also receive a CD-rom with these documents at the registration desk, on 2nd July, together with the other documents made available by the different professors, the final schedule of the courses, programme of social activities, the list of participants, and other useful documents .
Only participants to the training course will be able to have access the professors’ powerpoint presentations (if any), on the web sites of the Jean Monnet Chair and CERIUM. Those powerpoint presentations will be distributed in printed version during the courses.
V. CREDITED STUDENTS
An information meeting for credited students will take place on the 2nd of July, at 5.00 pm in room 107 (groundfloor).
VI. SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
We have the pleasure to invite you to a welcome cocktail on Tuesday evening, July 3rd, at the town hall of Montréal from 5.15 to 7.00 pm. Transport by bus will be organised. The cocktail will take place on Tuesday, as Monday the 2nd is a bank holiday in Canada (National Day). A guided tour of Old Montréal will be organised if the number of participants reaches 10. Other social activities will be organised on demand.
VII. DELIVERY OF CERTIFICATES AND CLOSING SESSION
The delivery of certificates will take place on Saturday July 7th, from 4 to 5.30 pm. It will be followed by a drink where we shall have the pleasure to invite all participants of the summer courses, professors and organising team. Details on the exact location of this event will be transmitted to you later.
