Peace Operations: Manufacturing Peace

Course given by Michel Liégeois (Université Catholique de Louvain) and ten experts

Please note: This Summer school is available in French only.

The course aims at giving the participants a good comprehension of the stakes of contemporary peace operations. Canadian, American and European scholars and experts will give a comprehensive report on the state of affairs of contemporary peace operations, their transformation and the role of the actors who take part in them, and also provide a progress report on Peace operations as a whole, of the role of the UN, child soldiers, Afghanistan, the regionalization of peacekeeping and state building.

The course is given entirely in English. There is also a separate French version of the course.

The three Master’s credit course is being offered by CÉRIUM International Studies Masters Program of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Undergraduate students can register with the approval of their academic director. (INT 6070 B.)
