Joseph Hubert

Mr. Hubert has been the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences since 2002. A Full Professor in the Chemistry Department, for more than seven years before 2002 he had carried out the functions of Vice-Dean of Research, and was responsible for the science sector of Artrs and Sciences, this great faculty of 26 departments as well as many centres, groups, and research chairs. The faculty includes 600 professors, some 12,000 students and about 300 other personnel. It is composed of three main sectors : letters and humanities, social science and psychology, and science. Mr Hubert is also responsible for research and research funds for the faculty. Holder of a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry, Mr Hubert has pursued a career at the Université de Montréal since 1974. Since 1996 he has been responsible for many special projects at the University. He also serves on the planning committee of the university ethics committee.
