Europe in Crisis
July 2 - 7, 2012
This summer school offers perspective on the unrest that Europe has experienced over the past 18 months, analyzing its medium- and long-term political and economic consequences. As some observers conclude that Europe has entered a period of decline, the crisis gripping the world’s largest economic zone is also raising questions about the continent’s influence worldwide. What does the future hold for European institutions? To what extent will domestic interests prevail over common European interests? Is there still economic and political leadership in Europe? This summer school aims to examine these questions from political, historical and economic perspectives.
This course is intended for citizens interested in international affairs, NGO representatives, civil servants, diplomats, journalists and business professionals.
The course is offered by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and may be taken for credit by graduate students (PLU6902). Information for students wishing to receive course credits.
Undergraduate students may also register under specific conditions. Please read the important notice for undergraduate students.
