Eric David is Professor Emeritus and President of the Center for International Law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He did all his university career at the Université Libre de Bruxelles: Doctor in Law (1966), Special Bachelor in International Law (1968) and in political and diplomatic (1973) and holder of the agrégation in Law of Nations (1976). Entered as a researcher at the Centre for International Law in 1968, he directed the Center from 1996 to 2000 and is president since 2002. He directs the Master in International Law since 1996. He is also Chairman of the Advisory Commission on International Humanitarian Law of the Red Cross of Belgium (French-speaking section) since 1996. Eric David has developed a significant practice of international law, whether as a Council of States in international disputes, or as expert for international organizations or NGOs.
