China Risen: How it Changes and Changes Us
from Monday, July 5th to Saturday, July 10th 2010
Chinese, North-American and European experts will take a six-day, in depth examination of China. Among the topics: the growing strength of China in world affairs, the role of Shanghai, media and internet control, the rule of law and the enduring strength of the ruling Communist Party. This course is intended for members of the public interested in international affairs and the cultures and peoples of the world, members of NGOs, public office holders, diplomats, journalists, and business managers.
The course is being offered by the Department of Anthropology of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and can be taken for credit (3 credits, course PLU6032) by graduate students. Undergraduate students may also register on specific conditions.
